Some comments about Bedworth 2003

We had great fun at the weekend, thank-you.

Thanks for a great weekend, I really enjoyed your festival. It has a great friendly atmosphere to it, with some wonderful music going on. Particularly enjoyed the two young bands - Kai and Isambarde - great stuff - along with the usual brilliance of Derek B, Bob Fox, Tom Mc and Keith D.

Many thanks to all involved for an excellent festival. I think the paypal booking system is a brilliant idea. My favourite acts were Isambarde, Kai, and Cloudstreet although I enjoyed all that I saw. I liked the variety of styles and it is becoming quite an international festival with performers from Ireland, Wales, Australia etc. (Sidmouth - eat your heart out!). My apologies to Cloudstreet that my food order arrived during their last number in the upstairs lounge in the White Swan, but apparently the cook had stayed behind so that I could eat my Sunday "lunch" at 4pm downstairs after the concert upstairs. Already looking forward to next year's festival.

The weather started cold, wet and blowy but the atmosphere inside was warm. The town had moved their Christmas lights celebration from the Friday to Saturday this year, so the town was busing with a French Market and small fair ground rides. So parking for late arrivals was very difficult. I was hampered by taking two grandchildren with me but found the "Cool Dudes" club was wonderful and I could not persuade the kids to leave! They are telling me firmly that they are going back next year.
And as to the music, although the lineup was down a couple of guests due to illness, the music was great, as usual. My great favourite is the big sing and it did not disappoint - for me, worth going just for that!

Didn't notice the wather once things got started; as Melonie said the atmosphere inside was warm!
The Red Cross Hut indoor camping was, as listed, 'Quiet' - even the snores were muted.
I met lots of 'catters I'd not met before, and renewed old aquaintances. Won't mention any names, or I'm sure to miss someone out, but I heard some great singing/playing.
I spent most of my time at singing venues, but enjoyed the Donnelly/McConville/Fox session on Saturday night. Couldn't stay on Sunday, but I hope to be back at Bedworth next year.

first visit for me - fun - what can I add ! good brekkies in the swan too - very civilised!!!

Like most festivals it was good as long as you liked what it did. I certainly enjoyed it - seeing a few of the booked acts, such as Cloudstreet, who were brill at harmonies, and Dave & Anni, who were as good as ever. Most of my time, however, was spent picking up on the fringish music and singing sessions. Some excellent and some good.

I can say no more than I did last night. What a great day Saturday was
- fantastic artists, great atmosphere, sheer enjoyment.

Well done yet again to you and the team.

I thought the standard was particularly good this year. Stand outs were Kai and Isambarde, who will surely make waves over the next few years. Plus of course the Geordie nonsense at the end.

I had such a lovely weekend at Bedworth I just had to say thanks to someone ........ Two ceilidhs in one weekend, with exellent bands and callers; Christmas came early for me!

Thanks again for another terrific festival and I shall see you again next year

Just wonderful is all I can say.
